Applicants whose university degrees are awarded by institutions where the medium of instruction is not English are generally required to meet at least one of the following minimum English language proficiency requirements: * An overall score of 6.0 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) taken at a test center within the past two years; or * A total score of 80 or above in the internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken at a test center within the past two years; or * A total score of 430 or above in the College English Test Band 6 (CET-6) within the past two years; or * Other equivalent qualifications. If necessary, applicants may be required to take specific English language courses or Mandarin proficiency tests. IELTS/TOEFL scores are valid for 2 years from the test date (for applicants applying for admission in 2025/26, IELTS/TOEFL scores must have been obtained on or after January 1, 2023). Only IELTS/TOEFL scores obtained at official designated test centers will be accepted (online versions such as IELTS Indicator, IELTS Online, and TOEFL Home Editions are not accepted).
