This program admits science stream students only (in provinces/municipalities where the arts and science streams are not differentiated, Chemistry must be selected as one of the subjects in the National College Entrance Examination). A total of 140 credit hours must be completed. The curriculum comprises six components: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) professional courses, foundational TCM courses, biomedical science courses, elective courses, general education courses, and internships and project-based research. The program integrates classroom instruction with practical training, covering fundamental sciences as well as theories of both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Students undertake a total of fifteen weeks of internship during the summer vacations of the first and third years, and in the fourth year. Prior to graduation, students must also complete a capstone research project. Instruction is delivered in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese. Emphasis is placed on cultivating research capabilities and fostering holistic development through general education, aiming to nurture a new generation of TCM professionals equipped with both specialized knowledge and comprehensive competencies.
